Hello and welcome to Salian Blogs. It’s good to have you here and I am excited to share my thoughts.

This blog is about the rising star Alejandro Garnacho, an Argentine youth prospect who has earned himself a name in the first team of Manchester United. Garnacho has a shared stage with football legends, yes Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Cristiano Ronaldo(Manchester United).

Have a great time reading and enjoy the read. Cheers!!

Winning Goal against Fulham in stoppage time aka the Fergie Time

Alejandro Garnacho, 18 years old teenage footballer who was has made an appearance for Spain U18 before switching and deciding to play for Argentina. Garnacho is a left winger who made his debut for the Manchester United first team during a 1–1 draw against Chelsea and made his full debut in Europa League against Sheriff Tiraspol at Old Trafford. Garnacho scored his first against Real Sociedad in Europa League and won the match for the Reds. He scored his first goal in the Premier League against Fulham in stoppage time, coming from the bench and scoring in 90+4' and won the game for United. Garncho’s youth team was Atlético Madrid Youth and was brought to Manchester United for £420,000

Garncho’s goal against Everton was just amazing, a solo run from his own half and scoring was just brilliant which earned him a name in the football world and everyone became aware of this youth prospect. He scored a brace in the final of the FA Cup 2022 and Manchester United won the 11TH FA Youth Cup trophy. During that campaign, he played all 6 games and scored 7 goals securing 3 assists for the team and eventually winning the cup final.

Dribbling

As you can see Garnacho finds himself surrounded by the 3 Fulham players, yet he finds a way to dribble past them and gets in the box. Though it wasn't given as a penalty indeed it was a great goal-scoring opportunity for the Reds. If he wasn't tackled by Bobby Reid, the Fulham defender there was the slightest chance for him to cross the ball over the defenders and an opportunity for Bruno Fernandes to score, though at that particular moment, it might have been difficult but we can always visualise and improve our self next time

Opportunity

This is the opportunity I was talking about earlier, quite a space right but ahead of Bruno Fernandes there was a Robinson ready to knock the ball out though he seems to be unaware of Bruno’s run inside the box.

Now let’s take a look at his goal against Fulham which was his first goal in the Premier League, First goal is always special for any player but this goal one leads the Reds to win the game in stoppage time is quite impressive for him definitely, I mean anyone would love to score a winning goal in the dying moment of the game. It’s always a great feeling, footballers out there know that feeling quite better than me.

Goal

As you can see the quick movement of Garnacho to beat Bobby Reid and got in between the defence line, Here Eriksen with a beautiful pass sliding between the defender's legs while Scott Mctominay shows his awareness leaves the ball for Garnacho as he is aware of his offside position. Garnacho’s quick feet and agility to get the ball and put it past the goal amazed me. And this wins the game in the dying moment as the Reds secure 3 points and Garnacho scores his first-ever Premier League goal.

Currently, Garnacho has suffered an ankle injury and is expected to return before the end of the season. Erik Ten Hag has recently rejected Garnacho’s request to play in U20 World Cup for Argentina this summer. This might be a huge loss for Garnacho to represent his country at the U20 which commences on 20 May 2023.

Appreciate reading it so far if you guys like it, then please do share give it a few claps and yes share them among your friends, family and those who love this beautiful game.
