Benjamin Matthew Godfrey is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Everton and his national country England. He is best at interceptions you can’t run past him easily. Even big 6 clubs players find it difficult to run past him. He joined Everton FC from Norwich City Fc. His Youth club was York City Fc, he even played for Shrewsbury Town. In total, he made 195 appearances and scored 7 goals and 3 assists for the team which is quite a good number. Godfrey signed for Everton on 5 October 2020 on a five-year contract. He made his debut in Premier League on 17 October in a Merseyside derby against Liverpool in a 2–2 draw at the home of Everton. To play derby as your debut match is a quite difficult task and he managed to do that in a good style. He is the runner up team of EFL Trophy runner-up: 2017–18 with Shrewsbury Town and EFL Championship: 2018–19 winner with Norwich City.

His interceptions are very good. His total/average pass success rate is 84.9 according to https://1xbet.whoscored.com/. He is a holding defender who likes to play short passes. In Premier League he kept 8 clean sheets, 55 tackles i.e. 62% successful tackles. His concentration on the ball is amazing. It's too early to hype him up but by seeing the defensive aggression he reminds me of Vidic the aggression need for a defender. He is pretty good at long ball passing too. Similar players to Ben Godfrey are Tyrone Mings, Joel Matip, Ozan Kabak, Smalling etc.

Ben Godfrey for Norwich City

A centre back must-have skills of reading the game well and also be able to guide others and he has such qualities in him which makes him a special player. He makes good use of his body while defending. Check his challenge on Shaqiri.

He should have been given a call up by Southgate instead of Eric Dier it's just my personal thoughts about him. His defending skills are unbelievable and the way he runs with the ball is quite risky but somehow he manages to do so perfectly without losing the ball. It's quite risky for a defender the dribble cuz it's kinda tempting to see 30 yards open so anyone will think to dribble. The video uploaded by Everton FC on youtube will make everything clear and you will defiantly like it even think yeah my club should sign him.

The Future of England football team really safe with these Talented players Like Ben Godfrey, Marcus Rashford, Phil Foden etc. Here's my prediction on the future line up of the England team.

There are many players like Reece James, Luke Shaw, Todd Cantwell, Curtis Jones etc. whom I haven't considered in this line-up prediction and I believe they will make me prove wrong and give their best shot.

Ben Godfrey’s performance with Norwich City in Premier League was amazing which made Everton sign him and now he is performing very well with the Toffeemen. His aerial blockings has been amazing throughout his career, Aerial battles won 105 according to Premier League Statistics.
